Medical electrical equipment and medical electrical systems are tested as per series of standards known as the IEC/EN/CSA/UL 60601 standards. These standards ensure that a product complies with all applicable safety and performance regulations. Additionally, products are tested for their Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) as per IEC/EN/CSA/UL 60601-1-2, and their evaluated for their Risk Management as per ISO 14971 as required by IEC/EN/CSA/UL 60601-1.
